Man City pip Tottenham as the best club in Europe, Besiktas close gap with Man United to just one place in UEFA rankings

Besiktas maintained their unbeaten Champions League record this season after holding Porto to a 1-1 draw at the Vodafone Arena on Wednesday 22 November.

The Black Eagles giants took their points tally to 11 in the process.

The reigning Super Lig champions are one of eight sides that have yet to lose a game in the group stages – Manchester United, PSG, AS Roma, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester City, Besiktas and Tottenham.

United, PSG, Roma and Barcelona have however, played one fewer game.

UEFA released their latest rankings today and had Manchester City in first place for the 2017-18 season with 14.000 points with Tottenham in second and PSG in third.

City beat Feyenoord 1-0 at the Etihad on Tuesday while Spurs beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in Germany.

Manchester United are ranked fourth while Besiktas moved into fifth place after guaranteeing qualification in first place.

The Black Eagles became the first Super Lig side to qualify for the Champions League Last 16 as group leaders – they managed to do so with a game to spare.

Besiktas beat Porto and Monaco away while defeating Red Bull Leipzig at home and drawing against Porto and Monaco in Turkey.

The Istanbul giants will take on Red Bull Leipzig in Germany on Match Day 6.
