Besiktas have stepped up efforts to find a replacement for Cenk Tosun who joined Everton last week.

The Black Eagles have prioritized a new striker.

Alvaro Negredo and Mustafa Pektemek are currently the only available forwards.

The Istanbul giants do not believe the duo are sufficient for the Champions League Last 16 clash against Bayern Munich or the domestic title race.

A source close to Besiktas, revealed to Turkish-Football that Fikret Orman and the rest of the delegation sent to England for the Tosun negotiations also held talks with Giroud’s representatives.

Orman has stepped up efforts to sign Giroud offering first-team football and the chance to prove himself in the Champions League.

Fanatik meanwhile report that Giroud wants to leave the Emirates in pursuit of more playing time ahead of the World Cup.

Per the source, the 31-year-old is desperate to make the France national side but is worried his lack of playing time at Arsenal could hinder his chances.

Giroud has been playing second fiddle to Alexandre Lacazette who is also competing for a spot at the World Cup in Russia.

The experienced striker has seven goals in 25 appearances this season and another one-and-a-half year remaining on his current contract.
