Barcelona star Messi set to join business venture in Turkey

Barcelona star Lionel Messi is set to join a business venture in Turkey according to B4L owner Ümit Akbulut.

Speaking on Turkish radio station Radyospor, Akbulut said: “Lionel Messi will arrive in Istanbul in April or May and become a partner of B4L.

“We already have an agreement and just want to sort out his trip to Istanbul.”

B4L are a sports and entertainment company, Corinthians forward Colin Kazim Richards founded the company along with Akbulut in 2012.

Akbulut did not reveal the details of the agreement he claims to have reached with the Argentinian footballer.

The Istanbul based businessman tried to bring Ronaldinho to Antalyaspor in 2015 but failed in doing so.

Akbulut hosts events in Turkey, using celebrities to promote his company.

Messi was set to travel to Turkey last summer to take part in Samuel Eto’o’s charity game which was set to mark the 10th year anniversary of his charitable foundation the “Fundacion Privada Samuel Eto’o”.

The event was however, cancelled as it was scheduled to go ahead on the day that followed the fail coup in Turkey.

Messi only just missed arriving in Turkey during the coup. Barcelona released a statement on their official Twitter account at the time announcing that Messi did not travel to Turkey but that Arda Turan, Carlos Puyol, Deco and Eric Abidan who did make the trip were safe.
