Barcelona team news: Barca face selection problems ahead of Celta game

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is facing a selection headache once again going into this weekend’s clash with Celta Vigo.

The young manager has been unable to rotate his squad over a busy period which has included three games in seven days. To make matters worse, Barce take on Celta this weekend before hosting Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League next week.

Arda Turan is an injury doubt doing into this weekend’s clash. The Turkey international has missed four games in a row due to an abductor muscle problem.

Jérémy Mathieu is also unlikely to feature due to a sprained ankle while Alex Vidal’s has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Enrique currently has only one right back to choose from and has been unable to rotate Andres Iniesta – who recently returned from an injury – due to Arda Turan’s absence.

On a positive note, Argentina international Javier Mascherano returned to the starting line-up last night and played the full 90 minutes.

It remains to be seen whether Enrique decides to rest his key names in store for next week’s Champions League clash, or if he will focus on the league instead. The Catalan giants will need to score at least four goals against PSG if they are to stand a chance of qualification.
