Chelsea star could be set to join Hakan Calhanoglu at Italian giants, Besiktas remain hopeful of deal

Chelsea star Diego Costa does not have a future at the Premier League champions next season.

Blues boss Antontio Conte made it explicitly clear that he does not want Conte in his team.

Costa has been closely linked with an Atletico Madrid move however, the La Liga outfit are serving a transfer ban.

Atleti would be unable to register Costa until January if they were to sign him.

The powerful striker could end up joining Turkish international Hakan Calhanoglu at AC Milan instead.

Costa’s agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly held talks with the Italian giants over a summer move.

Sky Sports reported Kaveh Solhekol revealed that Mendes had a meeting with AC Milan directors to discuss the transfer of Costa.

AC Milan director Marco Fassone has however, remained coy on whether they will make an offer for Costa.

“Diego Costa? He is Chelsea and I do not want to talk about players from other teams,” Fassone told Sky Sport Italia.

“He is a great footballer, excellent, but for now he is Chelsea.

“We are evaluating so many options, we have already done so much.

“It takes time to understand if we still have to invest in other parts of the field.”

Turkish champions Besiktas are also keen on Costa but want the forward on loan.

Besiktas director Umut Guner revealed last week that Costa is a target.

“Everything will be clear, the Diego Costa decision will be made next week,” Guner stated.

“Everybody is talking about Diego but it is too early to confirm anything yet.

“We will find out everything next week.”
