Chelsea striker Diego Costa has revealed that he still does not understand why he was suspended for a stamp on Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.

Costa was suspended for three-games by the FA for his stamp on Can during the Capital One Cup semi-final.

“I can’t change my playing style. I still don’t understand what happened, but I’m a foreigner [in England] and I have to accept things,” Costa told Spanish newspaper Marca.

The 26-year-old missed the Blues recent games against Manchester City, Aston Villa and Everton.

Costa has since returned to the Chelsea team and has a total of 17 goals in all competitions this season.

The Chelsea striker has been criticised for his aggressive style of play this season but Costa has yet to receive a red card for the Blues.

Can joined Liverpool on a £9.75 million move from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.

The 21-year-old has a total of one goal and one assist in 27 appearances for the Reds this season.
