Chelsea’s Didier Drogba: ‘Galatasaray will be Champions’

Chelsea striker Dider Drogba revealed that he believes his former side Galatasaray will win the Turkish Süper Lig.

Drogba responded to questions from Anadolu Agency reporters asking who his favourites were to win the league title while attending the Football Writers’ Association award ceremony.

The Ivory Cost international stated, “Galatasaray will be Champions”.

The 36-year-old went onto say that he misses Turkey: “I miss the people of Turkey, I love you all,” he added .

The Ivory Coast forward received the 2015 Football Writers’ Association Tribute Award at a gala dinner in London on Sunday night.

Drogba featured on the cover of the Turkish Airlines magazine this month following promotional work with the national flag carrier airline of Turkey.

Drogba joined Galatasaray on a free transfer from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua in January 2012. The Ivory Coast international spent two seasons at Galatasaray and scored 20 goals in 53 games.

The powerful striker returned to Stamford Bridge last summer following spells with Shanghai and Galatasaray. Drogba has scored six goals in 24 appearances for Chelsea this season.
