Crystal Palace set to launch new bid for €25m Tottenham striker target who has directly been involved in six goals this season

Crystal Palace are set to launch a new bid for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun according to reports in Turkey.

Fotomac claim that Palace have not given up hope of signing the powerful forward.

Per the source, the Eagles have made signing a striker their priority over the winter transfer window and that Tosun tops their shortlist.

Palace narrowly missed out on signing Tosun over the summer.

“Crystal Palace offered €13.5 million on transfer deadline day,” Tosun was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“Had they made the bid a week earlier I would be playing in the Premier league right now.

“I would only leave Besiktas if I made my club money and if the circumstances are right.

“Now I’m focused on winning my third consecutive league title, playing Champions League football and focusing on international football.”

Palace could face competition from Tottenham who have also been closely linked with the 26-year-old.

A source close to Besiktas revealed to Turkish-Football that Spurs have been scouting Tosun.

The Black Eagles now value Tosun as being worth €25 million.

Tosun has four goals and two assists in seven games this season including a UEFA Champions League goal of the week for his finish in the 3-1 away win over Porto.

The Turkey international scored 24 goals in all competitions last season for the back-to-back Super Lig champions Besiktas.

Tosun is keen on a Premier League move.

“All I am focused on right now is Besiktas — we are doing well in the Champions League and league,” Tosun told Sarigul who was writing for ESPN.

“I am really happy at Besiktas but like Arda Turan and Nuri Sahin I want to be an ambassador for Turkey abroad. I am keen on playing in England.

“I am really pleased with the interest being shown from the Premier League sides mentioned. It really is an honour and we will discuss my future with the club president at the end of the season.”
