Dortmund sporting director Zorc rules out Ilkay Gundogan part-exchange deal with Bayern Munich

Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc has ruled out talks linking Ilkay Gündoğan with part-exchange deal with Bayern Munich involving Mario Gotze.

According to the German newspaper Bild last week, the Bundesliga Champions were preparing an offer of money and Mario Gotze in a part-exchange deal for Gündoğan.

“A player-exchange deal involving Gundogan and Gotze? Mario is a Bayern player. I can really not imagine him returning to Dortmund,” Zorc told Sky90.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United have maintained an interest in Gündoğan over the past year while the Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich are also understood to be weighing up a €30 million move for the 24-year-old.

Dortmund have been reluctant to let go of their star man whose contract comes to an end in 2016. However, Dortmund are now looking to sell Gündoğan this summer rather that let him go on a free in 2016.

Gündoğan has four assists and three goals in 29 appearances for Dortmund this season.
