Borussia Dortmund star Nuri Sahin has sent a shout out to Liverpool fans ahead of the Europa League quarter-final first-leg clash.
The former Reds man shared a picture on Instagram holding up a joint Dortmund-Liverpool scarf and added the abbreviation for You’ll Never Walk Alone in the caption.
Sahin is no stranger to Liverpool having joined the Reds on loan from Real Madrid in 2013 however, Sahin departed midway though the season after falling out with former head coach Brendan Rodgers.
Dortmund welcome Liverpool to Germany for the first-leg on Thursday and Sahin is likely to start in central midfield.
Sahin could end up being one of three ethnic Turks born in Germany to feature in the tie with the other two being Liverpool midfielder Emre Can and Dortmund star Ilkay Gundogan.
Gundogan and Can both represent Germany while Sahin plays for the Turkish national side. All three had the option to represent either country at senior international level due to their place of birth and heritage.
