Liverpool have a wealth of midfield options according to James Milner.
The England international underlined that the Reds can play with a lot of freedom and versatility in midfield as there is so much quality available.
Milner was quoted by the Daily Star as saying: “It depends how the manager wants to play – two or three, or one of us sitting or moving out.
“There’s plenty of energy in there,”
“Emre came on as well, Adam played in there and Philippe [Coutinho] played in there [at Stoke City].”
Milner underlined that having the liked of Lallana, Can, Coutinho, Jose Allen and Jordan Henderson allows the Reds to play different styles at a high level.
“There’s a lot of options for us and a lot of different styles of players, and a lot of energy,” he added.
“That’s how we want to play, we want to move the ball but we want to put teams under pressure as well when they have it.”
Can has yet to start for the Reds this season but has came off the bench in both Premier League games this season.
The 21-year-old joined Liverpool as a central midfielder from Bayer Leverkusen last summer but has spent most of his time at the Premier League giants as a defender.
Can played in Brendan Rodgers back-three last season and as a right-back. Rodgers is however, expected to play Can as a midfielder this season.
Liverpool take on Arsenal next at the Emirates stadium on Monday 24 August.
