Emre Can has revealed that Liverpool fans create an amazing atmosphere and that it still gives him goosebumps when he hears ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ being sung by the home faithful.
“If you’re on the pitch and you hear the fans singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ you get goosebumps,” Can was quotes as saying by ESPN.
The 21-year-old also revealed that he took a step up in leaving Bayer Leverkusen for Liverpool last summer for £9.75 million.
“But with all due respect to Leverkusen, Liverpool are another step higher. Liverpool are a bigger club and you can feel the history of the club,” he added.
Can established himself as a first-team player under Brendan Rodgers playing most of last season as a defender but also being deployed in his preferred central midfield role over the current league campaign.
The 21-year-old will however, be playing under a new head coach after the international break as Rodgers was sacked following the 1-1 draw against Everton in the Merseyside derby last week.
Jurgen Klopp has replaced Rodgers on a three-year deal with immediate effect and will be in charge of the side when they return from international duty.
Can is currently away with the Germany national team setup and is one of three players in the team of Turkish origin – Mesut Özil and İlkay Gündoğan being the other two.
