Per the source, the Lions have held early talks with Arsenal regarding the availability of the former Germany international.
Galatasaray have a history of signing players from Arsenal. Both Lukas Podolski and Emmanuel Eboue both made moves from north London to the Istanbul giants.
Mertesacker has missed the majority of Arsenal’s season due to an injury. The former Germany international did however make an appearance on the final day of the season.
With Laurent Koscielny ruled out with a suspension and Gabriel sidelined by injury, Mertesacker may be included in Arsenal’ starting lineup against Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
