Everton have reached an agreement with Besiktas over the transfer of Cenk Tosun.
Besiktas manager Senol Gunes became the latest high profile figure involved in the transfer sage to make a statement.
The Black Eagles head coach revealed that he is both upset and pleased for the Turkey international star.
Gunes said: “I am upset he is leaving but pleased for him at the same time. He was a great servant to Beşiktaş. A good Beşiktaşlı. I am proud of him”
Besiktas club president Fikret Orman revealed earlier today that a deal has been struck with the Toffees.
“Our interests and the players interests are important. Cenk wants to join Everton. We want to do our part. We are working on a replacement,” Orman said.
“The era of buy, buy, buy is over. This is the era of buy add value and sell.
“A final deal has not been reached yet but we have an agreement over the price. The end is near.
“The transfer will be wrapped up by the weekend.”
The transfer is expected to cost Everton £27 million which would make Tosun the most expensive player to leave the Super Lig.
