Everton Send Steve Walsh To Turkey To Complete £25m Transfer Amid Fears Of Missing Out On Cenk Tosun Deal

Turkish-Football reported that Everton sent a delegation to Istanbul to complete the Cenk Tosun deal.

The Toffees want Tosun in a deal expected to cost £25 million.

The Daily Mirror have revealed that Everton director of football Steve Walsh has joined the travelling party.

Per the source, the Premier League outfit are worried that they could lose out on Tosun with Villarreal and Red Bull Leipzig expressing an interest.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce confirmed interest but revealed they are concerned about interest from across Europe.

Allardyce said: “It’s in the wind. There’s an interest obviously because we’re actively looking for a front man.

“But whether we are the ones to complete that deal or not, we will see. The interest from other clubs around Europe is our biggest worry if we are to secure that transfer.”

Tosun has confirmed in the past that were he to leave Turkey he would want it to be for the Premier League.

The 26-year-old has already played in Germany and has established himself as a star name at Besiktas winning the back to back league titles.

Tosun also excelled in the Champions League campaign and was directly involved in six of the Black Eagles 11 goals.

The Istanbul giants made history becoming the first Turkish side to book a place in the Last 16 as group leaders.
