Everton Striker Wants To Fill Void Left By Man United Ace Lukaku & Take Team To ‘Better Places’

Cenk Tosun believes he can fill the void created by Romelu Lukaku’s Man United exit and take Everton to ‘better places’.

Tosun is looking forward to replacing Lukaku and has a decent goal record to back up his optimism.

The 26-year-old scored 14 times and provided three assists for Besiktas this season incluing four goals and two assists in the Champions League.

The Turkey international found the back of the net 24 times in all competition for the reigning Super Lig champions last term.

“Of course I believe I can do it, otherwise I would not be here,” Tosun was quoted as saying by the Guardian.

“I think I can do it. Lukaku did really well here but I am hoping to score as many goals as I can and do well.”

Tosun refrained from comparing himself to the Belgium international but underlined that he expects to keep on scoring as he was over the first half of the season.

“I wouldn’t compare myself to Lukaku, I don’t like comparing myself to other players to be honest, but my main aim is to take the team to better places and score as many goals as I can,” he added.

The star striker also revealed that he believes he will do well in the Premier League as he is used to the style from growing up in Germany.

“The Premier League is fast football, very strong, high tempo, and I’m a strong player myself. I was born and bred in Germany, I learned my trade there, and I think my character as a player is well suited to this kind of football in England. My biggest dream was to play in the Premier League,” he said.

The star striker played a key role in Besiktas becoming the first Turkish side to finish the Champions League group stage as leaders.

Tosun is expected to start his first game at Goodison Park on Saturday against West Brom.

The striker could be joined in attack by Theo Walcott who arrived from Arsenal earlier this week.
