Everton Transfer Boost As Besiktas President Confirms Cenk Tosun Talks Will Take Place After Arriving In London
Besiktas club president Fikret Orman arrived in London yesterday and confirmed that he will be holding transfer talks.
Orman was asked at the airport for an update on the ongoing negotiations with Everton over Cenk Tosun.
“I’m in London for transfer talks, we’ve got 2 meetings. I came to sign and sell but more to sign,” Orman said.
The latest developments follow Orman revealing Everton have made an offer for the Turkey international.
The Toffees remain in pole position to sign Tosun after the club president revealed he rejected a €35 million bid from China.
The 26-year-old striker wants Premier League football and Besiktas are keen on him making the move to England.
“A club from China offered €35m for Cenk Tosun. And we said no. He is a very important player & we respect where he wants to play. Nothing is finished yet [Everton], if our criteria is met the transfer will go ahead,” he said.
Tosun meanwhile is also in London and has been since new years eve.
The prolific forward will complete his move to Everton today if Besiktas strike a deal with the Toffees.
The Turkey international has 14 goals and three assists in all competitions this season.
Tosun excelled in the Champions League group stage scoring four times and setting up two goals.
Besiktas became the first Turkish side to book a place in the Last 16 as group leaders this campaign.
