Ex Liverpool midfielder slams Emre Can for costly mistake

Emre Can

The former Liverpool midfielder Jimmy Case has slammed Emre Can for a mistake which lead to a Watford goal on Sunday. The Red’s were defeated 3-0 by the Hornets in the Premier League.

“He seems to have no vision whatsoever,” Jimmy Case told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“It was Can’s fault yet again – he lost possession in the build up to the goal and he nearly cost Liverpool earlier.

“He went racing over the far side like a bull in a china shop.”

Can received a rating of just 6.38 from WhoScored. The Liverpool midfielder made three tackles, one interception and two clearances.

21-year-old Can also made one key pass but was only able to maintain a passing accuracy of 75%. Can has struggled in recent weeks in central midfield with his passing accuracy averaging at 81% this season in the league.

Liverpool remained in ninth position following todays defeat with 24 points in 17 games. Watford also remain in seventh place with 28 points in 17 matches. The Hornets have now won four games in a row and are just a point off the top four.
