Felipe Melo has stated that he would enjoy playing in the English Premier League and that he is a fan of Chelsea.
“I am a warrior, the English like that,” Melo was quoted as saying by the Express.
“I love Chelsea because I’m a big fan of Jose Mourinho.”
The 32-year-old has been linked with a move away from Galatasaray over the past weeks. Melo was also quoted as saying that he wants to leave Galatasaray after an enjoyable period in Istanbul.
“I’ve completed my mission with Galatasaray,” he former Sevilla man told Milliyet.
“I had a wonderful time with this club, and I’ll leave with great memories.”
The 32-year-old joined the Istanbul giants on a permanent deal from Juventus worth £3 million last summer after playing the previous two seasons on loan at the Lions.
Galatasaray won the league title for the 20th time last season and secured a place in the Champions League group stages.
The former Brazil international has won a total of three Süper Lig titles and two Turkish Cup titles during his time in Turkey.
Melo provided one assist and scored two goals in 34 appearances for Galatasaray last season.
