Fenerbahce & Besiktas set sights on Diego Simeone's son Giovanni

Both Fenerbahce and Besiktas have been linked with a move for the son of the Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone.

Giovanni Simeone currently plays for the Argentinian club Atlético Banfield and has 12 Argentina u20 caps.

The Turkish newspaper Aksam has reported that Fenerbahce have sent scouts to monitor the 20-year-old’s performances. According to the Italian outlet Tutto Mercatto, Besiktas are also interested in the young striker.

Simeone scored four goals in 30 appearances for River Plate before making the switch to Banfield.

The young striker has seven goals in 19 since moving to El Taladro last year.

Besiktas and Fenerbahce are currently locked in a two-horse race for the Turkish League title.

The Yellow Canaries are currently two points ahead in first place however, Besiktas have two games in hand.

Senol Gunes’ side take on Istanbul BB this weekend while Fenerbahce host their Istanbul rivals Kasimpasa at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium.
