‘Focused at staying in England’ – Chelsea defender sends message to Conte over his future

Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo has spent more time away from Stamford Bridge than at the club.

In fact Omeruo has never actually spent a full season playing for the Blues.

The 23-year-old has spent the past four seasons on loan at ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor.

“Yes, I do have offers from Turkey but I am focused at staying in England should the right opportunity present itself. If not, I will consider alternative options,” Omeruo said.

The Nigerian international added that he is happy in Turkey having spent the past two seasons in the Super Lig.

“My time in Turkey has been great and the way the fans appreciate you can make it feel like home,” he added.

Omeruo did however, underlined that he thinks he is now ready for Premier League football and hopes he will get the chance to prove himself.

“The EPL is a great league. Very challenging and one that I know I can handle when given the chance,” he said.

Omeruo does have another two-years on his Chelsea contract but considering he was left out of the Far-East tour it looks like another season on the road for the centre-back.

The centre-back is vastly experienced at club and international level despite being just 23-years-old.

The Chelsea centre-back has 33 international caps for Nigeria.
