Former England international Paul Merson is expecting a goal fest when Manchester City take on Leicester City.

The Citizens host Leicester at the Etihad stadium on Saturday. Kick-off is scheduled for 11:30 (GMT).

City sits in fourth place in the Premier League table with 69 points after 35 games. Pep Guardiola’s side returned to winning ways last weekend with a 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

Leicester City find themselves in ninth place following an impressive string of results.

The Foxes have won back-to-back games but have a poor record away from home. Leicester have won just two games away from home this season.

City meanwhile have just one defeat to their name at the Etihad and will be confident going into Saturday’s encounter.

Merson believes it will be a tough game for City but has predicted a 4-2 victory for the home side.

“This will be a hard game for Man City and I think this will be an entertaining one with a lot of goals,” Merson told SkySports.

“Pep Guardiola’s team need a win to finish in the top four and Craig Shakespeare will want a result to put himself in a better position to get the job on a permanent basis.

“Fair play to him and his team who have kept going despite ensuring survival, but I still think City will have too much for them.”

City will move up into third place if they manage to record a win this weekend.
