The former Liverpool centre back Martin Skrtel has clearly been enjoying his time in Istanbul since making the move to Fenerbahce.
The experinced defender was spotted in one of Istanbul’s most popular eateries posing with the owner. The image was uploaded to the official Instagram account of the restaurant’s boss.
The restaurant is renowned for a wide selection of steaks and meat dishes with branches across Turkey and abroad – soon to include London.
Skrtel was involved in a defensive blunder on his Fenerbahce debut but he was not actually to blame. Goalkeeper Ertuğrul Taşkıran was the real culprit in the calamity of errors that resulted in Monaco equalising against the home side in their first-leg Champions League 3. Round qualifier.

Skrtel had an impressive game other than being involved in the equaliser for Monaco. The Yellow Canaries played a three-back that had never actually played together before. Summer signings Skrtel and Neustadter joined Denmark international Simon Kjaer in the back.
Fenerbahce ended up beating Monaco 2-1 and will travel to France next week for the second-leg tie.
