Galatasaray presidential candidate Dursun Özbek is reported to have held talks with the agent of Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski according to Turkish sports radio station Radyospor.
Current president Duygun Yarsuvat will be resigning in May and replaced by either Turgay Kıran or Özbek.
Regardless of the presidential race outcome both candidates are expected to maintain important roles at the club.
The Lions have been keeping tabs on Podolski and have made the German international offers in the past.
Podolski recently stated that he is considering his options and that he could leave on a permanent deal at the end of the season.
“I cannot confirm anything now. I have a year of my contract with Arsenal left and I have talked to others, I’m open to everything,” Podolski told Sky Sport Italia.
