TalkSport have also linked Liverpool and Newcastle United with the French international.

The Chronicle Live claims that Newcastle are expected to make an offer but could face competition from Montpellier.

Galatasaray official Cenk Ergün recently confirmed that Galatasaray were interested in Gignac over the winter transfer window.

“Galatasaray want Gignac but will need to make way for him by getting rid of a foreign player,” Ergün told Radyospor.

The 29-year-old joined Marseille in August 2010 from Toulouse for €20 million.
