Galatasaray suffer blow as Man Utd boss Van Gaal hands Chicharito place in squad

Galatasaray and Besiktas’ hopes of signing Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez on loan suffered a blow following Manchester United boss Louid van Gaal’s decision to recall the Mexican international to the squad.

Hernandez has a been given a chance to prove himself following the departures of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao.

Van Persie joined Fenerbahce on a three-year deal while United opted against signing Falcao on a permanent bases.

“Chicharito is coming on 25 July,” Van Gaal stated at his press conference.

“Okay he can prove himself again and now Falcao and van Persie are gone, so his chances are better now.”

Galatasaray were interested in Hernandez’s according to his agent Marijo Knez.

“Galatasaray’s interest [in Chicharito] continues,” Knez told Radyospor.

“Galatasaray are a huge club, they are one of our options in Turkey.”

The former Chivas striker’s recently suffered a broken collarbone which ruled him out of the Gold Cup. The injury is expected to keep the Hernandez out of pre-season training for another three weeks.
