Inter Milan winger Xherdan Shaqiri has completed his move to Stoke City for a club-record fee of £12 million according to the BBC.
Stoke manager Mark Hughes said: “He’s a dynamic and explosive player who will bring something different.”
The 23-year-old is had been closely linked with Stoke after watch the Potters 1-0 defeat against Liverpool at the Britannia stadium.
The Switzerland international is expected to leave Stoke this summer after falling out of favour with Inter boss Roberto Mancini according to the Metro.
The Milliyet recently reported that Galatasaray were also in the race for their long-term target Shaqiri.
Shaqiri who joined Inter for £11.2 million from Bayern Munich last season provided four assists and scored five goals in 35 appearances for the Serie A giants.
The former Basel player has scored 17 goals in 46 appearances for the Swiss national team aged just 23. Shaqiri had four years remaining on his contract with Inter Milan.
Stoke’s previous transfer record was the £10 paid to Tottenham for Peter Crouch.
