Hamit Altintop expected to miss Gaziantepspor game

Galatasaray midfielder Hamit Altıntop is expected to miss the Gaziantepspor game after picking up an injury according to AA.

Altıntop had to be stretchered off during the 2-1 defeat against Trabzonspor after tearing a muscle in his leg.

Following scans after the game it was revealed the Turkish international sustained an injury in his left hamstring.

Altıntop is the identical brother of Halil Altıntop who currently plays at Augsburg in the Bundesliga.

The experienced midfielder was born in the mining town of Gelsenkirchen which has produced some of the finest players Turkish internationals and players of Turkish origin in the history of the game.

Mesut Özil, İlkay Gündoğan and Kaan Ayhan all herald from the mining town.

Felipe Melo and Semih Kaya have however, returned from length injuries.

Melo featured in the Lions Turkish Cup game against Manisaspor that they drew 1-1 at the 19 Mayis stadium.

The Brazilian midfielder is expected to start against Gaziantepspor on the weekend and could be joined by Emre Çolak and Selçuk İnan.
