Galatasaray manager Hamza Hamzaoğlu underlined that he is to blame for his sides recent poor form not his players.

The Lions blew a two goal lead against Istanbul minnows Başakşehir on the weekend and ended up drawing the game 2-2.

“I am to blame not my players, criticise me not my players,” Hamzaoğlu told Fanatik.

Galatasaray dropped two points behind league leaders Beşiktaş following the draw.

The Istanbul giants have now dropped five points in their last two games.

Galatasaray take on Istanbul based Kasımpaşa next week. Kasımpaşa currently do not have a manager after Shota Arveladze resigned from his position.

Hamzaoğlu replaced former Italian national team manager Cesare Prandelli as Galatasaray head coach in November.

The Italian manager’s contract was terminated following a string of heavy defeats in the UEFA Champions League group stages.

Hamzaoğlu was previously a Galatasaray player and coached Akhisar before taking over the Lions.
