“He can fight” – Arsene Wenger singles out Arsenal star for praise following 5-0 win

Arsene Wenger singled out Germany international playmaker Mesut Ozil for praise following his sides win over Huddersfield.

The north London-based club registered a 5-0 victory over the newly promoted side last night.

Ozil returned to Wenger’s starting lineup after missing his sides 1-0 win over Burnley last weekend.

The 29-year-old was the star of the show on the night with two assists and a goal.

Wenger was obviously pleased with his star playmaker’s performance and heaped praise on him after the final whistle.

“Ozil is a great football player, but he shows as well at the moment he can fight,” Wenger told reporters following the game.

“We started well but then we lost our focus and our passing and allowed them to come back into the game.

“Then we got the second goal and suddenly everyone played with more freedom and more technical quality – then Mesut Ozil showed what he can do”

Arsenal remain in fourth place following their win over Huddersfield. The Gunners host an in-form Manchester United at the Emirates on Saturday as they look to maintain their winning run.

Ozil’s future at Arsenal is still uncertain after failing to pen a new contract. The 29-year-old could even end up leaving Arsenal for free next summer unless a new deal is agreed.
