Liverpool defender Emre Can has revealed that Jordan Henderson has earned the respect of his teammates as vice-captain.
The 21-year-old underlined that Henderson is a strong leader and knows how to act at the right place at the right time.
“He is a leader on the pitch and he is always there for you, including off the pitch. You can always go and talk to him. He is a great lad. He likes to have a laugh and a joke, but he also knows when it’s time to be serious,” Can told the Liverpo Echo.
“He is more of a quiet character but when push comes to shove, he’s not shy in coming forward in saying what has to be done.”

Henderson extended his Liverpool deal to 2020 this week and is expected to replace outgoing Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard next season.
The 24-year-old joined the Reds on a £16m move from Sunderland in 2011.
Can joined Liverpool as a central midfielder but has played predominantly as a defender in Brendan Rodgers back-three.
The Liverpool youngster has one goal and one assist in 33 appearances for the Reds in all competitions this season.
