Manchester City summer signing Ilkay Gundogan missed the opening Premier League game of the season against Sunderland but he was in the stands at the Etihad willing his team on.
City did end up winning the game against the Black Cats 2-1 with Gundogan looking on as a spectator.
Gundogan shared his match-day experience on Instagram alongside the following caption: “Supporting from the stands! Good match for us so far … #cityvsafc #etihadstadium #premierleague @mancity @premierleague.”
City boss Pep Guardiola won his first game in charge of the Citizens thanks to a late own goal from Paddy McNair.
Gundogan joined City on a big money move from Borussia Dortmund over the summer but has yet to even play a friendly for his new club due to injury.
The Germany international of Turkish origin is not expected to return until the end of the month.
The 24-year-old is one of four Germany born ethnic Turks in the Premier League joining Liverpool star Emre Can, Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil and West Ham summer loanee Gokhan Tore.
