Jorge Mendes in talks over Chelsea striker transfer to Turkish giants just days after convincing £22m Man United target to join

Besiktas have been working closely with super-agent Jorge Mendes this summer.

The Black Eagles have a long history working with the Gestifute boss, signing Guti, Simao, Ricardo Quaresma, Sidnei and Bebe in the past.

Besiktas currently have three Mendes clients on their books, Quaresma, Pepe and Anderson Talisca.

The Istanbul giants are hoping that figure rises to four this window.

Mendes played a critical role in Talisca returning for a second season on loan at Besiktas despite being closely linked with a move to Manchester United.

Besiktas are in talks with Mendes over the transfer of Chelsea star Diego Costa according to Fanatik.

The report claims that Chelsea have instructed Mendes to find Costa a new club.

Per the source, Besiktas want Costa on a one-year loan deal after which he will be free to join Atletico Madrid.

The Spanish international wants a return to Atleti but would not be able to play for six-months due to their player ban.

Besiktas believe they can offer a win-win situation to Costa, Chelsea, Atleti and themselves.

The Eagles and Costa are no strangers. Besiktas were on the verge of signing the powerful forward in 2011.

“In 2011 I was on the verge of joining Besiktas but an injury prevented the transfer from going ahead,” Costa was quoted as saying in 2014.

“An agreement was in place, they actually made a really attractive offer.

“I guess God did not want me at Besiktas at that moment in my career.”
