Fenerbahce star Luis Nani has backed Manchester United’s decision to hire Jose Mourinho describing the manager as being the ‘best in the world’ according to Goal.
Nani was quoted as saying: “He has done well in England in the past. We know he can always produce something at every team he goes to and we hope he will help Manchester United to win titles again.”
Mourinho and Nani have never actually worked together but both are Portuguese and the experienced winger has been closely linked with a move back to United.
In fact Turkish media agency DHA claim that Nani has agreed personal terms with his former club United.
DHA report that United have held talks with Nani who is on Mourinho’s shortlist.
The Portuguese international left United last summer but lifted four league titles and the Champions League during his time at the club.
Nani still has another two-years remaining on his contract and Fenerbahce will compete in the Champions League next season unlike United but he is reported to have had a rift with head coach Vitor Pereira.
The 29-year-old winger found the back of the net 13 times and provided 12 assists in 46 appearances for the Yellow Canaries this season.
