Juventus are set to table a €40 million bid for Arsenal star Mesut Özil according to the Daily Express.
The daily newspaper state that Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri has set his sights on signing a playmaker following the departure of Andrea Pirlo to the MLS.
The Italian newspaper Tuttomercato recently claimed that Juventus would use the money if Pogba was sold to sign the Germany international.
However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that reports linking Özil with a move to the Serie A giants are not true.
“Ozil is our player, he will remain our player and he wants to remain our player,” Wenger was quoted as saying in the Express.
Özil joined Arsenal two summers ago from Real Madrid for a record £42.5 million transfer fee. The former Real Madrid star has won two Vitality Arsenal Player of the Month and a PFA Fans Player of the Month award since the turn of the year.
The World Cup winner provided nine assists and five goals in 32 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last season.
