Leicester City have completed the signing of Napoli midfielder Gokhan Inler on a £5 million move according to the Guardian.
The Foxes outfit beat off competition from Super Lig outfit Beşiktaş, Germany side Schalke and fellow Premier League club West Ham for his signature.
Claudio Ranieri has been looking to replace former Real Madrid and Inter star Esteban Cambiasso at the heart of his midfield.
“I want to speak when there is something concrete. I think the club are speaking to a lot of players and I hope, as soon as it is possible, one player will arrive,” Ranieri said in a conference when asked about Inler (Independent).
Despite playing for Turkey at U21 level and growing up in the country İnler represents his country of birth Switzerland at international level.
The experienced midfielder captained Switzerland at last year’s World Cup.
Inler has become the second player of Turkish origin to join the Premier League over the summer. Bursaspor youngster Enes Ünal was signed by Manchester City on a £2 million deal last month.
The Swiss international has also previously played for Udinese, Zurich and FC Basel.
