Barcelona star Arda Turan stated he has always supported the La Liga giants and that it was his life long ambition to join the Champions League title holders.
“Barcelona is more than just a club and those who know me will tell you I have always been a fan and that it has been a life long dream to play here,” Turan was quoted as saying in the Hürriyet.
Turan seems to be what Fever Pitch auther Nick Hornby would describe as a ‘sod-that-for-a-lark floating punter’. Supporting multiple teams does not seem to be a problem for the bearded winger.
The former Atletico Madrid winger has now claimed to support three clubs over his career – Galatasaray, Liverpool and now Barcelona.
The Turkish international rose through the ranks at Galatasaray from ballboy to star player so it would not come as much of a surprise that he has a soft spot for the Lions.
The 28-year-old has also claimed that playing for Liverpool is his dream in the past.
“I want to play in major leagues and my dream team is Liverpool,” the Turkey international revealed before leaving Galatasaray for Atletico in 2011.
Spanish newspaper AS claim that Turan grew up a Liverpool supporter and that his father is a big Reds fan.
Turan’s brother recently had an interview with Hürriyet and had an Anfield Road sign on the wall.
