Liverpool is ‘really like a family’ says Emre Can

Liverpool midfielder-come-defender Emre Can has revealed that it was difficult settling in to life in England but that everybody at the club went out their way to make sure he felt at home from day one.

“It was a big move for me. It’s the first time I’ve lived away from Germany. It’s not easy because I didn’t speak the language so well, but it’s getting better now my English is getting better. The important thing is that now I’m happy in Liverpool. And I would like to mention that everybody in the club helped me from the first day. It’s really is like a family here,” Can told the Anfield Wrap.

Can joined Liverpool from the Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen last summer.

The 21-year-old has gone onto become a fan favourite in a short space of time and even has a few chants sung in his honour by the Reds faithful.

The central midfielder played most of the season as a defender but is expected to move make into his preferred position next season.

Can is currently at the U21 European championships with the Germany youth side.

Despite representing Germany at youth level Can can still play for Turkey at senior level due to also being Turkish.
