Liverpool legend John Aldridge has tipped Emre Can to play in midfield next season.
The 21-year-old joined Liverpool as a central midfielder from Bayer Leverkusen on a £9.75 million move in the summer but has played most of the season as a defender in Reds boss Brendan Rodgers back-three.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo Aldridge stated, “Emre Can has been the light out of the new bunch.
“I think he should get a run next season in the midfield area.”
The likes of Dietmar Hamann and Kolo Toure have both called for Can to play in midfield next season. Can is expected to move into the Liverpool midfield next season following the departure of captain Steven Gerrard.

Hamann even went onto liken Can to Steven Gerrard in a recent interview with Liverpool FC’s official website.
The 21-year-old has made 39 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions since joining Liverpool. Can is expected o make his 40th appearance for the Red’s this weekend when Liverpool take on Stoke City.
