Mohamed Salah has been on fire for Liverpool this season scoring an astounding 38 goals and providing 11 assists.

Galatasaray will be kicking themselves knowing they could have had Salah.

The Lions had reportedly struck a deal with the Egypt international in the summer of 2013 according to the Sozcu newspaper.

Per the source, former club president Unal Aysal had reached an agreement-in-principle with Salah and Bruma.

Salah was 21-year-old at the time playing for Basel while Bruma was at Sporting Lisbon.

Aysal presented Fatih Terim, who was manager at the time, with two options, Bruma or Salah.

Terim picked Bruma as he was younger and according to the head coach, more talented.

The rest is history. Suffice to say he did not end up reaching the level of Salah.

Bruma joined Galatasaray for €16.5 million while Salah was snapped up by Chelsea on a €10 million move.

The Portuguese winger currently plays for Red Bull Leipzig where he has five goals and two assists this season.

Not a bad record but no Salah.
