Liverpool U21's 'deserved' 3-1 win over Tottenham U21's says Yesil

Liverpool youngster Samed Yeşil stated that his side deserved the 3-1 win over Tottenham U21’s at White Hart Lane.

Yeşil started against Spurs and scored a brace. The goals were his first since returning from a lengthy injury.

The 20-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament for the second time in a year in January 2014 and has only recently recovered.

 

Yeşil shared a picture from the game alongside the caption: “It was a Great victory today at having Scored 2 goals. Well deserved 3 Points. #ynwa #lfc #elhamdulillah.”

Yeşil was rated as one of the brightest prospects in European football when he joined the Reds from Bayer Leverkusen.

The young striker was born in Germany and is of Turkish heritage like fellow former Bayer player Emre Can.

 

The 20-year-old has however, only made two senior appearances for the Reds due to lengthy injuries.

The Liverpool youngster has three goals and one assist in seven U-21 games for the Reds this season.
