Emre can will sit out of Liverpool’s clash with Stoke City in the Premier League today.
The 22-year-old is out with a suspension which he picked up during the Red’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham.
While Can didn’t receive a red card, the combative midfielder has instead been suspended for two games after accumulating ten yellow cards this season.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to deploy the Wales international Joe Allen in place of Can.
Can is expected to start for the Reds against Dortmund at Anfield in the return leg next week. The Germany international has two goals and two assists in 45 appearances for Liverpool this season.
Liverpool will also be without Can for next weekend’s clash with Bournemouth.
