Liverpool forward Rhian Brewster has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
The 17-year-old is not expected to make a comeback before the pre-season after undergoing a second operation.
The Reds wonder-kid was initially expected to return to action by April after picking up an ankle injury in the January.
Brewster will however, not be back until July after a second operation this time on his knee.
The rising star damaged his meniscus when he landed awkwardly after jumping for a header against Manchester City U23s.
Liverpool Under-23s boss Neil Critchley said: “The knee operation is not going to alter much the timeline on Rhian coming back.
“It happened at the same time as when he hurt his ankle. The ankle was the major issue – that was where he was getting the most pain – but the knee wasn’t quite right.
“It’s not a major thing but as he’s out anyway they took the opportunity to get it sorted.
“The hope is that Rhian will be back fit in pre-season, whether that’s at the start or towards the end we don’t know yet. He’s got a good few months of rehab ahead of him and we’ll keep reviewing where he’s at.”

Brewster was part of the England side that won the Under-17 World Cup in Brazil but still has the option to represent Turkey at senior international level.
The young forward was born in London and represents England at Under-17 level but a little known fact about the young forward is that he is eligible to play for Turkey.
A source close to the player has revealed to Turkish-Football that the Reds wonder-kid has a Turkish mother and would be able to play for the Crescent-Stars at senior level.
