Manchester City have held talks with Besiktas star Mario Gomez according to the Sabah newspaper.
The report claims that representatives from City met with the agent of Gomez Uli Ferber and that he has been added to Pep Guardiola’s shortlist.
Gomez joined the Istanbul giants on-loan from Fiorentina over the summer transfer window but Besiktas have a buy-out clause option that remains active until the end of the season.
Besiktas stand to make 50 percent of any future transfer fee if Gomez decided to turn down a permanent deal and return to Fiorentina according to the Sabah.
Gomez is however, happy in Istanbul having settled in well and established himself as the most prolific scorer in the league.
The former Bayern Munich man has 21 goals in all competitions this season for the league leaders and has even managed to work his way back into the Germany national team.
City could face competition from Manchester United who have also expressed an interest in the striker according to Telegraph and FoxSport last month.
