Ilkay Gündoğan has been linked with a move to Liverpool according to the Express newspaper.
The report states that Gündoğan is high on the list of Liverpool’s new boss Jurgen Klopp’s list of potential new recruits.
Gündoğan recently revealed that in his opinion Jurgen Klopp will be a great fit at Liverpool.
“I think Klopp would be a great fit at many clubs and I believe also at Liverpool,” the Germany player said at a national team press conference (via Thisisanfield).
Klopp won two Bundesliga titles and finished the 2012-13 Champions League as runners-up during his time in charge of Dortmund.
Dortmund rejected an approach from United just before the end of the summer window for Gündoğan according to the German newspaper Express.
Gündoğan joins Liverpool star Emre Can in the Germany national team camp ahead of the Euro 2016 qualifier on Thursday against Ireland.
Can, Gündoğan and Arsenal playmaker Mesut Özil make up the three Germany international players of Turkish origin.
