Besiktas striker Mario Gomez has been included in Joachim Löw’s 23 man squad which will travel to France to compete in this summer’s Euro 2016 tournament.
The experinced striker has been in phenomenal form for Besiktas this season and has attracted the attention of Europe’s Elite.
Gomez has 27 goals in all competitions for the Istanbul giants this season including 25 in the league shattering the record for goals scored in a single season – previously held by Ilhan Mansiz (21).
The 30-year-old started for Germany during their 3-1 defeat to Slovakia in a friendly encounter last week and scored his sides only goal of the game from the penalty spot on 13 minutes.
