Mesut Ozil has backed Arsenal teamamte Jack Wilshere to make his return to football after a lengthy injury.
Ozil shared an Instagram picture hugging Wilshere with the caption: “Looking forward to seeing you back on the pitch tonight!”
Wilshere has not featured for the north London based club all season due to injury but is nearing a return to the senior side.
The Instagram post has also been interpreted as a message of support to the England international who is going through off the field problems after allegedly being involved in a nightclub bust-up in London.
Arsenal’s U21 side will face Newcastle United at Emirates Stadium tonight and Wilshere is likely to feature in the game.
The senior side meanwhile travel to Upton Park to take on West Ham who are battling for a Champions League spot.
The league title is however, still up for grabs but Arsenal must avoid dropping any further points if they are to overtake second placed Tottenham and leaders Leicester City.
