Mesut Ozil has hinted at seeing out his contract at the Arsenal in a recent interview with German outlet Sport-Informations-Dienst (SID).
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is confident Ozil will sign a contract extension in the summer however the Germany international has been linked with a move away in recent weeks.
“I’m not saying I must return to the Bundesliga. I don’t rule it out. Maybe I’ll finish my career in England.” Ozil told SID.
The former Real Madrid playmaker is currently on a £140,000-a-week contract at Arsenal and has two years remaining on his current deal.
Ozil is Arsenal’s most expensive signing however, following a disappointing end to the season Ozil is seeking assurances that the squad will be strengthened in the summer.
The 27-year-old has provided the highest number of assists in the Premier League this season (18).
