Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil turned down a mega-offer from China in favour of staying put in north London.
The 29-year-old penned a three-year contract with the Gunners on Wednesday putting an end to months of speculation.
According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, Ozil was offered a mega-money move to the Chinese League.
Per the source, Guangzhou Evergrande were ready to pay the 29-year-old an incredible £22m-a-year.
Ozil is understood to be happy with life in north London and has received assurances that the club will make significant improvements to the squad in the near future.
The Germany international provided the assist for Arsenal’s only goal during their 3-1 defeat at the hands of Swansea City on Tuesday.
Ozil is expected to be back in action this weekend when Arsenal host Everton at the Emirates in the Premier League.
The Gunners currently sit in sixth place with 42 points after 25 games.
