‘MIlkay Gündogan’ – Fans Churn Out Dairy Product Football Puns Following Man United vs Man City Derby Incident
Manchester City beat Manchester United at Old Trafford in the derby clash last weekend extending their lead at the top of the Premier League table.
City won the game 2-1 but one of the main talking points afterwards was an off the field incident involving milk and Jose Mourinho.
The United boss had water and milk thrown at him and City coach Mikel Arteta suffered a cut head during a post-match row.
The Red Devils were upset at what they viewed as an excessive City reaction to the result.
City’s players celebrated in front of their fans after the final whistle and in their changing room.
After the players headed down the tunnel, it is understood Mourinho made his feelings known outside the visitors’ dressing room.
The City camp reacted and during a heated exchange a one-pint milk carton was thrown at Mourinho.
The milk incident resulted in fans churning out dairy product football related puns on social media.
